From academic research to digital innovation, Ibis Labs was founded on the belief that scientific communication deserves better technology.

The Beginning

Founded by publishing partner Chris Bennett and web developers Gary Williams, Mauro Velez who were frustrated with clunky digital academic publishing platforms. We saw an opportunity to bring modern web development to scientific communication by allowing publishers to bring scientific communication into the digital age with Engraffo, our first interactive content platform.

First Publisher Partnerships

We partnered with several publishers in 2021 to ensure that our platform met the unique needs of lifescience publishing. This led to the successful launch of Engraffo, which enabled dynamic, interactive content delivery for complex scientific articles.

2023

Platform Evolution

We continue to expand Engraffo's capabilities with new features like reporting and new interactive content types. Our platform is now used by multiple leading publishers to deliver engaging scientific content.

With our deep expertise in both technology and life sciences, we began offering consulting services to help pharmaceutical companies and publishers leverage digital tools and AI to enhance research dissemination and engagement.

Today

We are in the middle of embarking on the next chapter of our journey by continuing to innovate for publishers and pharmaceutical companies alike. At the same time we are working to launch our second platform, MedEngage, an AI-powered research discovery tool designed to help pharmaceutical teams accelerate content discovery and insight generation.
